AMES, Iowa – Iowa State women's basketball juniors Addy Brown and Audi Crooks have been named to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike's Naismith Women's College Player of the Year Watch List, announced by the organization on Thursday morning.
Brown improved upon a well-rounded freshman season as one of the nation's best triple-threat women's basketball players as a sophomore, averaging 15.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. She is one of six NCAA Division I women's basketball players since 1999-2000 to finish multiple seasons with at least 400 points, 250 rebounds and 150 assists. Brown scored in double figures in 28 of Iowa State's 35 games while finishing 11 games with 20-plus points. She turned in eight double-doubles and earned her first Big 12 Player of the Week award after averaging 25.5 points, 6.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds against ranked foes Kansas State and TCU. The Derby, Kansas native poured in a career-high 41 points at the Big 12 Championships against Arizona State, one point from matching the all-time school scoring record. She finished 5-of-9 from behind the arc and 10-of-11 at the free throw line. The 6-2 forward narrowly missed the program's fourth-ever triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds at Kansas last season.
Crooks enters her junior season as one of the most dominant low posts in the country. She is the only Cyclone women's basketball player to earn All-America and unanimous all-conference honors in her first two seasons. The Algona, Iowa native improved upon an impressive freshman season, setting single-season points (820) and made field goals (329) records at ISU. She led the Big 12 Conference with 23.4 points per game while shooting over 60 percent from the floor. On January 5 in her 49th career game, Crooks scored her 1,000th career point and became the fastest Cyclone and third-fastest Big 12 women's basketball player to the milestone. She scored in double figures in every game in 2024-25 and has an active streak of 67 games over her career.
Iowa State opens the regular season on Monday, November 3 against St. Thomas. Tip-off on Monday is set for 11 a.m. as the Cyclones host Field Trip Day in Hilton Coliseum.
