Cyclones in Ninth After Round One of the Prestige at PGA West

LA QUINTA, Calif. - The Cyclones finish round one of the Prestige at PGA West in ninth place, shooting five-over par (289). Iowa State is tied for third in the field in Par 4 scoring, shooting four-over on Par 4's.
Paul Beauvy shot an even-par 71 to tie for 21st after round one. Beauvy carded two birdies on the day. Dianchao Wu tied his second-lowest round of the season with a 72 (+1) in the first round. Wu is tied for 30th, tallied one birdie, and carded the most pars in the first round, finishing 15 of his 18 holes with a par. Owen Sawyer is also tied for 30th after shooting one-over on the day, finishing with four birdies. Sawyer leads the field in Par 3 scoring, shooting two-under par on Par 3's.
Jackson McCommon is tied for 55th (+3) after round one, totaling three birdies. Zach May finishes the day tied for 102nd (+7) and carded three birdies.
Drew Hensen and Jesse Trembath are playing in the Prestige Individual tournament at The Golf Club at Terra Lago in Indio, Calif. Trembath, competing in his first career tournament, is tied for 3rd place at two-under par, and Hensen is tied for 8th at one-over par.
Oregon State leads the Prestige at PGA West after one round, shooting -9, comfortably ahead of in-state rival Oregon in second (-2). Oregon State's Rylan Johnson leads the individual race at -5 after 18 holes of play.
The Prestige at PGA West continues tomorrow with the second round, where tee times will begin at 8:45 a.m. CT. Iowa State begins their second round at 1 p.m. CT.
