Leading Off
Winners of three of its last five and two straight, Iowa State will welcome a second-consecutive ranked foe to the CSC in No. 19 Oklahoma State. ISU will be facing a ranked Big 12 foe for the third consecutive weekend, having gone a combined 1-5 against both No. 2 Texas Tech and No. 14 Arizona.
The Cyclones enter the weekend series coming off an in-state rivalry win over Iowa on Wednesday evening. The Cyclone bats produced nine runs on 11 hits, collecting five XBH. ISU will look to have a productive weekend to boost its RPI.
Oklahoma State has won four consecutive contests, three of which came on the road against Utah last weekend in a conference sweep. The Cowgirls are one of five ranked Big 12 squads and aim to continue their winning ways.
Scouting the Cyclones
Iowa State's offense is led by senior standout Reagan Bartholomew, who leads the team in batting average (.444), runs (40), hits (52), homers (11) and walks (23). Bartholomew is fifth in the Big 12 in batting average and sixth in hits.
Tatum Johnson has scored the second-most runs (37), owns the second-most hits (47) and leads the team in RBI with 39. Kadence Shepherd is the only other Cyclone with double-figure long balls (10) and is second in RBI (35).
In the circle, four Cyclones have seen the majority of action. Lauren Schurman leads the way with a team-low ERA of 3.85. Schurman has hurled 100 innings, a team-high, and owns 59 punchouts, also a team-high. Freshman Liv Palumbo (5-2), senior Jaiden Ralston (1-4), and Michigan State transfer Ava Mullen (3-4) round out the staff for ISU.

OSU's offense features a balanced bunch, as seven players are batting between .300 and .380. Rosie Davis leads the team in hits (37), doubles (8) and homers (9), while Amanda Hasler leads the team in RBI with 39.
The Cowgirls' pitching staff is dominated by a pair of arms in Ruby Meylan and RyLee Crandall. Meylan sees the majority of the work, tossing 134.2 innings and owning 136 strikeouts. Crandall and Meylan have combined to earn 21 of the team's 25 wins.
