AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State soccer team hosts Kansas Sunday afternoon in what is now the first home Big 12 match of the year at the Cyclone Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
KEY STORYLINES
-Iowa State was scheduled to play Oklahoma State on Thursday night in the home league opener, but the match was suspended in the 67th minute and has been declared a no contest. A possibility of a makeup date remains for later in the season.
-The Cyclones enter the Sunday match as the only Big 12 school to have played one conference match this season. Kansas has played three matches in league play, while Sunday will be their third road match of the four.
-The Cyclones are returning to the Cyclone Soccer Complex for the first time since Sept. 16 when they defeated Creighton. The two road matches at South Dakota and West Virginia were the final back-to-back road matches of the year.
-Iowa State went 1-3 in league play at home last season, defeating Baylor 2-1 in double overtime on Sept. 25. The Cyclones will host five league matches this season.
-Three Cyclones have appeared on the pitch for over 700 minutes this season, led by Taylor Bee's 819 minutes. Mira Emma has played 795, while Claudia Najera has been on the field for 705 minutes.
-Eight different Cyclones have recorded a point this year. Mira Emma and Lauren McConnell lead the way, as they have each recorded five points.
-Senior Taylor Bee appeared in her 60th career match for the Cyclones against West Virginia last week. Bee and McKenna Schultz (74) have appeared in the most career matches for the Cyclones.
