AMES, Iowa - A lightning delay in the 67th minute halted play Thursday night between the Iowa State and Oklahoma State soccer teams. The Cowgirls held a 1-0 lead when the match was suspended at 7:35 p.m. A decision was made at 8:40 p.m. that the match would not be able to be continued on Thursday night. A decision for any future play will be announced at a later time.
Iowa State is currently scheduled to return to play on Sunday against Kansas. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Cyclone Soccer Complex.
Oklahoma State scored the lone goal in the 25th minute, as Hannah Webb scored her second goal of the season with a deep shot that hit the crossbar and crossed the goal line. Kim Rodriguez had the assist on the goal.
Lauren McConnell and Kenady Adams each had two shots for the Cyclones. Jordan Silkowitz recorded four saves in the net. Both teams had seven shots when play was halted, including a 4-0 advantage in the second half for Iowa State.
