AMES, Iowa – No. 6 Iowa State opened its 2025-26 season at the Cyclone Invitational presented by Daily's Premium Meats, with eight Cyclones coming home with titles.
Anthony Echemendia (141), Paniro Johnson (149), Vinny Zerban (157), Connor Euton (165), MJ Gaitan (174), Isaac Dean (184), Rocky Elam (197) and Yonger Bastida (285) all won titles Saturday.
Nine Cyclones made the finals, including a head-to-head matchup at 141 pounds between Echemendia and Evan Frost which was not contested. In total, 14 Cyclones placed inside the top-four in their bracket.
