AMES, Iowa - Iowa State spent its spring break in the Golden State and will play in its final regular season tournament, the Mizuno Classic, in Stockton, Calif. The Cyclones will have two games against the host, Pacific, as well as matchups against Marist, Sacramento State and Santa Clara. ISU opens the tournament Thursday against Marist at 4 p.m.

- Iowa State went 3-2 at the Louisville Slugger Invitational last weekend with wins over Boston, Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton. Â
- Seven of ISU's games have been decided by two runs or less or less this season. The Cyclones are 1-6 in such games. Iowa State has left the tying or winning run stranded in scoring position in the seventh inning in three of those losses.
- Iowa State owns four wins over teams that made a regional last season (SDSU, UNI, Boston, Long Beach State). Overall, the Cyclones are 4-3 against the 2021 NCAA Tournament field.
- The Cyclones are averaging 6.46 runs per game, which ranks 23rd in the nation.Â

- Mikayla Ramos has been lights-out at the plate to begin the season. The catcher ranks seventh in the country in home runs (10) and is 12th nationally in RBIs (31). Ramos has logged 31 RBIs in 24 games this season, the 12th-most in the country. Last season, the catcher batted in 57 runs to break Iowa State's single-season RBI record. By comparison, she had 20 RBIs through 24 games in 2021.
- Freshman Angelina Allen has been a valuable addition for the Cyclones this season. Her 27 hits are fourth in the Big 12 and first among freshmen.
- Ellie Spelhaug has matched her career high in strikeouts (6) four times this season, including games against No. 6 UCLA and No. 5 Washington.
- Saya Swain is averaging 10.2 strikeouts per seven innings, T-34 nationally.
- Karlie Charles owns a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 9.75:1. Charles has 39 strikeouts compared to four walks this season.
